Touching down in Manila soon, Filipina tennis sensation Alex Eala is concluding an intense month of competition in China.

The 19-year-old rising star from the Rafa Nadal Academy recently wrapped up her tour at the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) 250 Jiangxi, where she faced Czech player Marie Bouzkova in the opening round. Despite her determination, Eala fell short, losing 5-7, 6(4)-7, marking her exit in the round of 32.

The said match was her fourth tournament in China and the final WTA event of her season.

“That’s a wrap on 1 month in China. Time to go home now,” she captioned a series of photos, including moments of her playing in different stints in China.

She also posted some snaps from her train travels through China’s scenic landscapes. These posts conveyed not only her sense of adventure but also her appreciation for the growth achieved during her time away.

Leading up to her return, Eala eagerly anticipated returning home to Manila. She shared, “Growth doesn’t always come easy. Good news is there’s always next week to try again and come back stronger.”

As a summary of her adventures in China, World No. 150 Eala successfully qualified for the main draw of the Guangzhou Open last week.

However, she faced a tough first-round match against the United States’ Bernarda Pera, losing 0-6, 3-6.

Unfortunately, she was unable to qualify for the main draws at both the Wuhan Open and the Ningbo Open three weeks prior. But she promised to come back stronger.

In her post, she wrote, “Next year I’ll be back better.”

As Eala heads home, her fans eagerly await her next moves on and off the court.

With her competitive spirit intact and valuable lessons learned from her international experience, there’s no doubt that Alex Eala will return to the court stronger and more focused than ever.
